RTA Bus    Bike Racks on Campus    Big Springs Parking Structure 2

As a new member of our campus community, it's important to familiarize yourself with transportation options and parking policies to ensure a smooth experience. UCR Transportation Services (TAPS) requires all motorized vehicles to have a valid UCR parking permit linked to the license plate while parked on campus. Understanding the specific permit requirements and designated parking areas will help you navigate the campus and find convenient spots for your commute.

Due to limited parking, TAPS encourages the use of alternative transportation options such as public transit, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, biking, and teleworking. RTA bus passes are provided to employees completely free of charge.  We also offer incentives for using alternative transportation through the R’Commute Program which is designed to help reduce your carbon footprint and save on commuting costs.

If you plan to purchase a parking permit, please note that due to a one-month processing delay in UCPath, new hires' accounts may not immediately appear in the parking system. As a result, new employees are required to register for a guest account on the Parking Portal. To accommodate this delay, Transportation Services provides one-month parking permits, which must be paid within 24 hours of purchase. Once your UCPath account is fully activated, you’ll be able to purchase a permit through payroll deductions.  Just follow the instructions below:

  1. Create a Guest Account: Begin by registering for a guest account on the Parking Portal.
  2. Add Your Vehicle: After logging in, navigate to the “Vehicles” menu and add your vehicle information to your account.
  3. Contact Transportation Services: Once your guest account is set up, contact Transportation Services at (951) 827-8277 or via email at parking@ucr.edu to purchase your parking permit.
  4. Prior to the expiration of your permit, please contact Transportation Services to set up payroll deductions for your annual permit. Permits must be renewed every fiscal year.
