Parking Lot Spaces Available

Real-time parking spaces available can now be viewed through your mobile device for the following parking lots: Big Springs Structure, Lot 21 Gold +, Lot 24, Lot 26, Lot 30, and Lot 32.

Free Parking at Hunter Park Metrolink Station

The Riverside Hunter Park/UCR Station is an official county sponsored Park & Ride lot and offers complimentary parking for commuters.  The station is located at 1101 Marlborough Avenue, Riverside.  From there you can take RTA Route 52 directly to campus.  Bus service begins at 5:10am and the last bus back from UCR is at 7:30pm.  Buses run approximately every 30-40 minutes.  The P2P shuttle will take students back to the Hunter Park Metrolink Station in the evenings between 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm.

Incoming Freshman Resident Parking Information

Due to limited parking availability on campus, freshman residents should plan on NOT bringing a vehicle to campus with them.  Campus parking permits will only be issued to students who seek an exemption from Transportation Services based on a documented, compelling need for campus parking.  Residents will be sent information regarding the exemption process when they are notified of their housing assignment in September.

Campus housing for freshmen offers an all-inclusive package designed specifically to complement the student’s academic pursuits by addressing student lifestyle needs. Consequently, it has been our experience that freshman residents do not need a vehicle during their first year.  And if students do have a need to explore off campus, there are many ways for students without cars to get around, including: short-term car rental (Zipcar); bike sharing (Zagster); ride matching (Zimride); unlimited free rides on the RTA’s local and long-distance routes (U-Pass); and direct bus service to Metrolink’s Hunter Park station.  For more details about alternative transportation at UCR, visit Transportation Services’ “Alternative Transportation” web page http://parking.ucr.edu/at/.

Zagster Bike Share Program Now Available

Students and staff members now have access to the Zagster Bike Share Program managed by ASUCR.  A total of seven bike stations are located throughout campus and are available 24 hours per day/7 days a week.  Just choose a bike and ride, then return it to any of the UCR bike stations.  Trips under two hours are free and then pay $1/hour thereafter.  (A $30 overtime fee will be charged if the bike is kept over 24 hours.)  To get started you must download the Zagster app on your smartphone and have a valid UCR email and a credit/debit card to register.  For more information go to http://bike.zagster.com/ucriverside.
