Incoming Freshman Resident Parking Information

Due to limited parking availability on campus, freshman residents should plan on NOT bringing a vehicle to campus with them.  Campus parking permits will only be issued to students who seek an exemption from Transportation Services based on a documented, compelling need for campus parking.  Residents will be sent information regarding the exemption process when they are notified of their housing assignment in September.

Campus housing for freshmen offers an all-inclusive package designed specifically to complement the student’s academic pursuits by addressing student lifestyle needs. Consequently, it has been our experience that freshman residents do not need a vehicle during their first year.  And if students do have a need to explore off campus, there are many ways for students without cars to get around, including: short-term car rental (Zipcar); bike sharing (Zagster); ride matching (Zimride); unlimited free rides on the RTA’s local and long-distance routes (U-Pass); and direct bus service to Metrolink’s Hunter Park station.  For more details about alternative transportation at UCR, visit Transportation Services’ “Alternative Transportation” web page http://parking.ucr.edu/at/.

Point to Point Shuttle Summer Hours

Beginning June 26th through September 22nd, the P2P shuttle will run from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday.  The last pickup will be at 10:30 PM.
