TAPS Rate Increases for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Effective August 1st

The Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost has approved the following rates for Transportation & Parking Services (TAPS) for fiscal year 2014-15.  Pending notification of the various bargaining units, these rates will become effective August 1, 2014.

2014-2015 Campus Apartment and Canyon Crest Family Housing Permits

2014-2015 Annual Housing Permits for continuing residents of Campus Apartments (Bannockburn, Falkirk, Oban, University Plaza and Glen Mor) and Canyon Crest Family Housing that were purchased online are available for pick up at the Transportation and Parking Services office.  If you still need to purchase a permit, you may purchase one at our office.

2014-2015 Academic Year Housing permits that were purchased online will be available for pick up on Check-In day, September 12 (Campus Apartments) or September 19 (Glen Mor). After these dates, permits will be available for pick up at the Transportation and Parking Services office.

Summer Session Gold Commuter Permits On Sale Now

Summer Session Gold commuter permits are available for purchase online via the Parking Account CenterNo temporary printable permits will be available for Summer Session permits.

If you select MAILING for your delivery option, your permit will be mailed on the next business day.  Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery.  We recommend the PICKUP option.

If you select PICKUP for your delivery option your permit will be available the next business day at the Parking Services building.  Parking Services is located on campus at 683 Linden Street.  Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM.

Campus Apartments Fall 2014 Check-Ins

Parking permits for Fall 2014 check-ins for Bannockburn, Falkirk, Glen Mor, Oban and University Plaza will be available for purchase online August 18th - August 29th. Campus apartment permits purchased during this time period will be available for pickup on September 12 (Bannockburn, Falkirk, Oban and University Plaza) or September 19 (Glen Mor) at your designated Check-In Day location. After Check-In Day, you may purchase your permit at the Transportation and Parking Services office.

Residence Halls Fall 2014 Move-Ins

Parking permits for Fall 2014 Residence Hall move-ins will be available for purchase online September 8th - September 19th. Residence Hall parking permits are available on a first come, first served basis. Residence hall permits purchased during this time period will be available for pickup on September 28th at your designated Move-In Day location. If permits sell out, you may add yourself to a waiting list through our online parking account center.

Point-to-Point Shuttle Service Time Change

Beginning November 4th, 2013, the P2P Shuttle Service will transport students to their campus apartments and off-campus residence from 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.  For more information on the P2P service, please visit our webpage at http://parking.ucr.edu/shuttle/ or contact us via telephone at 827-1297.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Now Available

Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations have been installed in Lots 1, 6, 15, and 30.  All chargers are part of the ChargePoint network. Please see our Electric Vehicle web page for more information.

Budget and Planning

The Budget and Planning reports provide data on TAPS' current financial position for 2011/12 and projections through 2021/22.

TAPS Summary of Financial Position 2012/13 - 2017/18

The TAPS Summary of Financial Position 2012/13 - 2017/18 presentation provides highlights of TAPS' 5 year operating plan.  This summary was created in Winter 2013 and while some of the information has changed, it nonetheless provides a good representation of the departments financial position and long range plans. The summary includes background details on TAPS revenue and expenses for 2011/12, projections for 2012/13 and a recovery and growth plan for 2014/15 through 2017/18.

Long Range Parking Model

The TAPS Long Range Parking Model provides an operating plan and budget through 2021/22 (updated in Spring 2014) and consists of 5 major components:

Detailed Operating Budget Information

TAPS' operating budget is divided into three distinct activities:  Permits, Fines and Forfeitures, and Transit Operations.  Each  year TAPS submits its budget proposal to the Office of Resource Planning and Budget and ultimately to the EVC/Provost.  Included below are the selected tables for the operating budgets submitted and approved by the EVC/Provost for fiscal year 2014/15.  Information from these tables are combined to perform the revenue and expenditure calculations used in the long range parking model. A table illustrating rate comparisons with other UC campuses is provided in Tab G of the TAPS Parking Services file below.
