A valid parking permit must be displayed at all times on the UC Riverside campus. Faculty, Staff and Graduate Student permit options are described below.

Permit Types:

Red Commuter

Red commuter permits may be purchased at the Parking Services office.  Red commuter permits are lot specific and sold based on lot availability. Waiting lists are maintained for high demand lots. You may add/remove yourself from waiting lists via our Parking Account Center by logging in with your NetID.

Red commuter permits may be purchased using cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or by Transfer to Student Account. Qualified employees may also pay permit fees via monthly payroll deduction.

Carpool

Carpool permit holders must first enroll and be pre-approved to participate in the Carpool Program prior to a Carpool permit being issued.

All carpool participants will be responsible for a portion of the permit costs.

Carpool permits may be purchased using cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or by Transfer to Student Account. Qualified employees may also pay permit fees via monthly payroll deduction.

Executive

Executive permits are available for purchase at the Parking Services office by UCR employees in job titles classified at a level equivalent to or above Associate Dean/Associate Vice Chancellor. Eligibility is determined by the Director of Transportation and Parking Services.

Executive permits may be purchased using cash, check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Qualified employees may also pay permit fees via monthly payroll deduction.

Residence Hall permits are available online approximately 3 weeks prior to Move-In day by logging in with your UCR NetID.  After this time, permits may be purchased at the Parking Services office based on availability. Residence Hall parking permits are available on a first come, first served basis.

Residence Hall permits may be purchased using Visa, Mastercard, Discover or by Transfer to Student Account.

Campus Apartment permits, excluding Stonehaven, are available online approximately 3 weeks prior to Check-In day by logging in with your UCR NetID. After this time, Campus Apartment permits, excluding Stonehaven, may be purchased at the Parking Services office.

Campus Apartment permits, excluding Stonehaven, may be purchased using Visa, Mastercard, Discover or by Transfer to Student Account.

Stonehaven permits are available for purchase via the Stonehaven housing website. Stonehaven permits may be purchased using check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express.

Medical

Graduate students may purchase a one week temporary medical permit at the Parking Services office. If a graduate student needs a medical permit for a longer period of time, they need to contact the Student Disability Resource Center. The Student Disability Resource Center will determine if accommodations are needed and notify Parking Services if a longer term medical permit is approved.

Faculty/Staff who have been issued a Disabled Person Parking Placard or license plate from the Department of Motor Vehicles may purchase a Medical permit at the Parking Services office. Please bring your placard and identification to the Parking Services office to purchase a Medical permit.

Faculty/Staff who require temporary access to disabled parking but do not have a Disabled Person Parking placard may also apply for a campus Medical permit by providing a letter from their physician stating the need for a medical parking permit and the duration of time the permit will be required.

Medical permits may be purchased using cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or by Transfer to Student Account. Qualified employees may also pay permit fees via monthly payroll deduction.

Intellicenter

Intellicenter commuter permits may be purchased at the Parking Services office or from the Intellicenter building manager.  The Intellicenter is located at 14350 Meridian Parkway, Riverside, CA 92518.

Intellicenter permits are available to those employees whose assigned work location, according to university records, is at the Intellicenter. If the employee's assigned work location is changed to the main UCR campus, the Intellicenter permit must be returned to Parking Services.

Intellicenter commuter permits may be purchased using a personal check.  Qualified employees may also pay permit fees via monthly payroll deduction.

Additional Information:

Temporary Permits

One-day Gold temporary parking permits are available at the University Kiosk located at University Ave. and W. Campus Dr. (in front of Lot 1) or at the Parking Services office. Multiple-day temporary permits are available at the Parking Services office. Identification will be required. Temporary permits are limited to seven one-day permits per academic year.

Payroll Deduction

Payroll deductions for parking fees are deducted in arrears. This means that each deduction pays for the previous month. Parking fees are deducted on a pre-tax basis.

Qualifications

You must be in the payroll system with an appointment of 50% or greater (no fellowships, grants, or without salary appointments). Your appointment must be for a minimum of one year.  Undergraduate students are not eligible for payroll deduction.

Cancellation

You are responsible to pay the monthly fee on your parking permit until it is returned to Parking Services.

Emeritus/Retiree

For those faculty or staff who are retired and continuing services without compensation, Parking Services offers a free parking permit for use in any Gold parking lot or parking permits in Red and Blue lots for half price, based on availability.

Retiree permits are non-transferrable and restricted to retirees only.

Alternative Transportation

The goal of Alternative Transportation is to reduce the total number of single occupant vehicle trips made to campus by faculty, staff and students. This goal supports California clean-air mandates and reduces campus and community congestion.
