Free Parking at Hunter Park Metrolink Station

The Riverside Hunter Park/UCR Station is an official county sponsored Park & Ride lot and offers complimentary parking (see map) for commuters.  The station is located at 1101 Marlborough Avenue, Riverside.  From there you can take RTA Route 52 directly to campus.  Bus service begins at 5:10am and the last bus back from UCR is at 7:30pm.  Buses run approximately every 30-40 minutes.  The P2P shuttle will take students back to the Hunter Park Metrolink Station in the evenings between 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm.

2018/ 2019 Campus Apartments / Residence Hall Parking Permits

Campus Apartment (Bannockburn, Falkirk, Glen Mor and University Plaza) parking permits (see map) and Residence Hall parking permits (see map) for the 2018/2019 school year are available for purchase at the Parking Services building. Incoming freshman living on campus must submit an exemption request to be considered for a parking permit. Campus Apartment / Residence Hall parking permits are available on a first come, first served basis - quantities are limited.

Please note that Glen Mor and Residence Hall parking locations have changed this year due to upcoming construction. Glen Mor and Residence Hall permits are only valid in Lot 21 and the Big Springs Parking Structure..

Incoming Freshman Resident Parking Information

Due to limited parking availability on campus, freshman residents should plan on NOT bringing a vehicle to campus with them.  Campus parking permits will only be issued to students who seek an exemption from Transportation Services based on a documented, compelling need for campus parking.  Residents will be sent information regarding the exemption process when they are notified of their housing assignment in September.

Campus housing for freshmen offers an all-inclusive package designed specifically to complement the student’s academic pursuits by addressing student lifestyle needs. Consequently, it has been our experience that freshman residents do not need a vehicle during their first year.  And if students do have a need to explore off campus, there are many ways for students without cars to get around, including: short-term car rental (Zipcar); ride matching (Zimride); unlimited free rides on the RTA’s local and long-distance routes (U-Pass); and direct bus service to Metrolink’s Hunter Park station.  For more details about alternative transportation at UCR, visit Transportation Services’ “Alternative Transportation” web page http://parking.ucr.edu/at/.
